Spotlight: Normann Copenhagen Edge Cushion

Jan Gustav Sørensen graduated as a Design Technologist from TEKO Design and Business School, Denmark in 2004. He received a Bachelor's degree in Art Direction and Concept Development from the Danish School of Media and Journalism in 2013. He uses his vast experience of fashion and visual concept development when he creates designs.

When it comes to design I have a weakness for the color blue in all its varieties. I especially love Klein blue. I also have an affinity for pictogram-like graphic design, color combinations from the 1950’s, my parents’ and grandparents’ furniture and design objects with a story and character. I would love to live in Tom Ford’s visual universe from the movie “A single man”.

An abundance of colourful cushions
— Normann Copenhagen presents edge

Liven up your home and add colour with Normann Copenhagen's stunning new Edge Cushion Collection. The collection consists of a cushion design in woollen textiles of exquisite quality. The fresh, quirky design consists of various geometric shapes that combined create a stringent, graphic feel.

The Danish designer Jan Gustav Sørensen has worked with the individual feel of the cushions via colour, composition and textile qualities. The designer has combined two textiles from Gabriel for the Edge Cushion, which break up the simple and delicate tone- on-tone design. Both textiles are made of delightful woollen blends with vivid expression, beautiful structures and a great deal of playfulness.

Jan Gustav Sørensen says: ”New textiles, particularly cushions, are a simple and effective way of transforming the atmosphere of a room. This collection allows you to experiment with new colours for the decor of your home. Edge can be used individually, together or in combination with other cushions such as the Brick Cushions – also from Normann Copenhagen.”

Edge is available in a variety of two exciting colour combinations that can be mixed and matched in numerous ways or with our Angle cushions.
